Yesterday Around Sarasota Bay

Yesterday was a wander around day.  Have I ever mentioned how much I love where we live?

This is the famous WWII photo ...

This is Sarasota's tribute to that iconic image...note the size of the tourists who insisted on getting in my way

Looking at the WWI picture reminded of a letter up to a magazine, the previous month they had published that one and several others of people dancing in the streets. Apparently one woman had recognised her mother, shown it to her and she hadn't known it had been taken. I have seen that photo several times recently, it does seem to be a very popular one, have a feeling the people in the photo were also identified. Does it mention anything about them on a plaque or anything under the statue. Certainly a very good likeness from the photograph.
